Training Outcomes	After completing this programme, participants will be able to: • Carry out preparations for performing turning operations using CNC Machine: read and establish requirements of raw material, dimensions, limits & tolerances, finish requirements etc. Be able to perform daily maintenance, carry out preliminary checks, obtain and identify correct and calibrated tools. • Carry out turning operations using CNC Machine: use and extract information from engineering drawings, labelling data etc, load and unload components, produce machined components, measure critical parameters of machined components, observe inconsistencies, replace worn out tools and store finished products etc • Work safely following health and safety standards: read and understand the safety signs and instructions on the CNC machine, use of PPE, identify job –site hazards and apply good housekeeping practices etc

Check components are free from foreign objects, dirt or contamination and prepare machine by mounting, positioning and correctly setting a range of work holding devices and cutting tools. Carry out operations on conventional turning machine: mount and set required work holding devices, set and adjust speeds to produce components with various features and different materials as per given quality standards. Handle of unresolved problems: identify and refer unresolved problems to internal specialists. Working safely: read and understand the safety signs and instructions on the machine, use of PPE, identify job –site hazards and apply good housekeeping practices etc

The Polytechnic College is a Technical Education Wing of Research and Development for Bicycle and Sewing Machine Ludhiana. The R&D Centre was established in 1983 by Punjab Government with the assistance of UNDP/UNIDO.
